We Are Mice of Shah Dola !

ہم دولے شاہ کے چوہے ہیں 

We are rats of the saint "Shah Dola". Practically this means that we are mentally retarded. 

This is not against the Muslim saint Shah Dola of Gujrat [Link] who lived during the reign of Mughal Emperor Akbar. But it certainly is, in a way, against how some people are exploiting his fame and making children mentally retarded by fixing steel cups on their heads [Link]. Actually I am talking about our mental retardedness as a nation.

We cannot talk about anything. If anyone of us does, some of us kill him and rest of us make a pious hero out of the murderer. 

Religion is one of such "things". We are all religious minded people; the faithfuls. We love our religion and have strong belief in it. But if anyone of us wants to understand the depths of it by asking various questions, narrow minded and aggressive fundamentalists, the self styled "Maternal Uncles of the Faith" ایمان  کے مامے , declare him non-believer and liable to be killed.

And we let them do this to us. Not only let them do this, we keep them in our society. Not only keep them, but make them judges of the genuineness of our faiths. Certainly we are mentally retarded!

We can't talk about our country's--our very own, I mean OUR country's--borders. Neither as to whether it was a good idea to create it in first place, nor that what are the possibilities of changing the existing boundaries. We will be instantly dubbed as traitors by many of our institutions. Institutions that otherwise we built to protect us and ensure us free fulfilling lives. We certainly are retards!

We cannot also talk about many of our institutions; about their finances or their performance or their policies and strategies. If we do, we will either end up in jail or Jannat. We certainly are retards!

We cannot talk about the wisdom of our parents. We are told that since parents have raised us, they own our lives, our futures and our minds. We cannot live according to our wishes, cannot opt the careers according to our wishes and cannot take decisions of our lives; like marriage ;) In essence we are told to prolong our childhoods till the death of our parents. And instead of start living our lives without compromising the respect of our parents, we keep our childhoods. Certainly we are the retards! 

And since we cannot talk about all these things, we find no reason to think about them. In comparison to the  mice of Shah Dola, we are the mice of ignorance!
