Students! Flunk Exams!

by Tipu Salman Makhdoom

Your academic degrees and medals are going to dishonor you in the real world. Unless you stop grabbing good grades. I am not kidding.

Your degree is the fairy tale's Frog Prince. It will transform itself with the first kiss of the practical world. The moment you will step in the practical life,  your degree will cease to be a degree. Instead it will become a reference letter. Just that!

A reference letter from a University that you have learned X number of things with X level of expertise. And the real test will begin when you will present your degree to your employer.

It will not matter, then, whether you earned your degree by cheating in exams or by using cramming and other tricks to secure marks in exams. In fact your marks will be totally irrelevant. No one is going to give you even a penny for your marks. You will only be paid for the work done. And if what you are learning in school or University is only how to get good grades, get ready for the show!

Grades are nothing but a symbol. A symbol which roughly indicates how much have you learned. If you have managed to get good grades without learning,  your lie has gone undetected. But mark my words,  real world is neither foolish nor sympathetic. Your lie will not only be exposed soon,  you will be punished severely for it; for the rest of your life!

So if you are not learning,  stop lying to your teachers,  your parents and your own self,  get flunk. Your grades should represent how much real life skills have you mastered in your subject,  nothing else.

Don't allow stupidity to ruin the rest of your life. Start learning. Grades are worthless without learning!
